Kristinn Már Hilmarsson ráðinn til Festu

Kristinn Már Hilmarsson has been hired to work at Festa - the Center for Sustainability as a sustainability specialist. Kristinn previously worked at the Environment Agency as a specialist in the emissions accounting team, where his main task was to calculate emissions from industry and chemical use, but also from the energy part of the accounting, especially from transportation.

"It is a great privilege to have Kristinn working for Festa. The company has grown rapidly in recent years, the number of member companies has increased and the projects have become more important. Our work covers a wide range of areas of sustainability, such as the circular economy, biodiversity, climate issues and social sustainability. There is therefore great value in having Kristinn's experience and expertise at Festa's office," says Elva Rakel Jónsdóttir, CEO of Festa.

Kristinn er fjórði starfsmaðurinn á skrifstofu Festu og mun sinna sjálfbærnitengdum verkefnum með sérstaka áherslu á loftslagstengd verkefni. Kristinn er með BS gráðu í jarðeðlisfræði frá Háskóla Íslands og mastersgráðu reikistjörnufræði (planetary science) frá University College London.

„Ég er virkilega peppaður að ganga til liðs við sjálfbærnidrottningarnar hjá Festu. Það er mikil gróska í sjálfbærnimálum og við erum komin að ögurstundu í loftslagsmálum. Eins og Gandálfur sagði: „All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us“ og því hlakka ég til að leggja mitt á vogaskálarnar til að efla þessi mál enn frekar á þessum tíma,“ segir Kristinn Már Hilmarsson.
