Tengslafundur hjá ÖBÍ og VMST

ÖBÍ Rights Association and the Directorate of Labour invited Festa's member associations to a Networking Meeting on September 11th.

At these monthly meetings, one member association usually invites the other to share their knowledge, experience and challenges in sustainability. This time, these two member associations joined forces and held a special presentation on the changes that are taking place regarding the Social Security Act, which will require increased employment participation of people with reduced working capacity.

The issue is large and important, but the goal of the meeting was to connect and increase understanding of government actions, the goals of interest groups and the role of the business community. At the meeting, we gained insight into how people with reduced working capacity are sometimes called hidden treasures. It is clear that awareness needs to be raised on the issue.

All of this, of course, touches on the social aspect of sustainability, which we have been emphasizing in recent months, but Festa is now preparing a roadmap for social sustainability for companies and organizations with the help of various experts.

Deiglufundur um Science Based Targets initative

Aðildarfélög Festu hittust síðan á rafrænum Deiglufundi um Science Based Targets initiative og CDP 25. september.

Nú hafa um tíu íslensk fyrirtæki fengið SBTi markmið sín samþykkt eða eru í því ferli, en sérstaklega góð mæting á fundinn sýnir að mikill áhugi er á SBTi meðal aðildarfélaga Festu. Við snertum einnig á CDP, sem er annað gagnreynt og alþjóðlegt tól í upplýsingagjöf um loftslagsmál.

Við vorum einstaklega lánsöm að fá erindi frá SBTi sérfræðingnum Adam Roy Gordon á fundinum, en hann sat í upphafsstjórn SBTi þegar það var sett á lagnirnar.

Þá deildu þrjú aðildarfélög sem hafa öðalst reynslu af SBTi ferlinu sinni þekkingu, þau Þóra Jónsdóttir (Advania Ísland), Bergþóra Hlíðkvist Skúladóttir (Embla Medical) og Gunnar Sveinn Magnússon (Deloitte). Ívar Kristinn Jasonarson frá Landsvirkjun sagði síðan frá CDP vegverð Landsvirkjunar.
