The need and call for sustainability and social responsibility have never been stronger, and will continue to be so in the coming months and years. This promotional and educational initiative that we are introducing here is therefore particularly timely. The targeted implementation of social responsibility and sustainability delivers diverse benefits to companies and institutions, such as efficiency and reduced waste, better risk management and reputation with customers, and increased job satisfaction due to an increased emphasis on equality and health.

Any kind of strategic planning, review of a company's operations, and implementation of new practices can be costly in the beginning, but Festa was curious to know how the financial benefits of sustainability emerge after the journey has begun in earnest.

Nanna Elísa Jakobsdóttir, an international relations expert and former journalist, spoke at the end of 2019 with the CEOs of seven Festa member companies and found that although financial gain is not the main driving force when starting out, it is an undoubted byproduct of implementing social responsibility in business operations.
