Let's create Green connections

Á viðburðinum voru styrkir á sviði umhverfis-, loftslags- og orkumála kynntir auk þess gestum gafst tækifæri á að taka þátt í styrkjamóti og ræða við sérfræðinga.

The greatest challenge of our time is to rapidly reduce global greenhouse gas emissions, fast enough to prevent catastrophic global warming.

Iceland can lead the way on this journey, both because of the large role that Icelandic ingenuity plays in the fight, which is much larger than one might expect given the size of the nation, and as an important model for other countries. Iceland has created important technological solutions in the field of climate change, and we can expect even more.

Til að ná slíkum markmiðum og hafa jákvæð áhrif verðum við að vinna saman. Aldrei áður hefur verið eins greitt aðgengi að fjármagni í græn verkefni, hvort sem er hérlendis eða erlendis frá og því til mikils að vinna að tengja saman viðeigandi aðila og beina góðum hugmyndum í réttan farveg, en var það einmitt markmið viðburðarins.

About 120 people attended and over 100 meetings, at a so-called grant meeting, were booked. It is clear that this day resulted in green connections across the board.

Harpa Júlíusdóttir, Festa's project manager, said a few words of encouragement at the beginning of the meeting:

"There has never been so much capital around the world that is being sought from green projects and green operations, whether in the public funding environment or investment funds, and it is only going to increase with the upcoming legislative changes, as green operations and green projects will reach a higher level when it comes to capital and capitalization. These legislative changes are pushing the business community into very big changes."

„Þurfum að brasa svolítið, verður smá vesen og þetta þarf að gerast allt alveg rosalega hratt.“

"Because the ideas that change the world are both practical and feasible, and there is no shortage of funding."

We then share the moderator's entertaining closing remarks:

"A little trouble. Resilience. Dark art. We welcome all ideas. Let's follow our footsteps. Let's accelerate success. Market access. Let's activate ingenuity. Let's start in the local environment. Stopwatch."
