Economic growth and a reduction in emissions? Can these go together?

Daniel Montalvo, Director of Sustainable Resource Use and Industry at the European Environment Agency, offers a masterclass on how to enable the decoupling of economic growth from environmental impacts and greenhouse gas emissions.

This is called “decoupling,” which roughly refers to when greenhouse gas emissions do not increase at the same rate as economic growth. Decoupling economic growth and emissions is a key prerequisite for maintaining an economic situation that meets the needs of a growing nation while meeting our climate commitments.

In his talk, Daniel connects to international policymaking and commitments and reviews numerous examples of where decoupling has been successful. After Daniel's talk, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and have a good conversation.
