Crucible Meeting - Cycle in Operations: What's Next?
@Electronic event
At the meeting, we will get an insight into what is happening in the circular economy on an international level. We will summarize what was at the forefront of the international conference World Circular Economy that took place in Brussels last April, which is held annually by the Finnish innovation fund Sitra. We will bring together foreign experts who will share with us new tools and their insights on implementing circularity in operations. What is the focus on a global level and what big steps can the private sector take?
- Vojtech Vosecky, mörgum kunnugum af
LinkedIN, verður sérstakur gestur í pallborðsumræðum. Vojtech hefur unnið með mörgum stærstu fyrirtækjum heims sem ráðgjafi á sviði hringrásar auk þess að vinna með fjölda borga og sveitarfélaga. Þá hefur hann komið að gerð “Circularity Gap Report” fyrir ólíkar þjóðir og svæði í starfi sínu fyrir hollensku hringrásarstofnunina Circle Economy.
- The first international circular economy standard - ISO 59000 - will soon be published. Part of that standard is the first official definition of what the circular economy is. We have Catherine Chevauché, Head of Circular Economy at VEOLIA, speaking to us. Catherine has led the steering group that has been working on the standard under ISO since 2019, and it will be officially published in the coming weeks.
- The Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra has been at the forefront of designing and publishing guides for implementing circularity in business. Every year, the fund hosts the World Circular Economy Forum, an international conference where thousands of people come together to discuss circular solutions and challenges. Recently, Sitra published a new guide: Playbook for developing nature-friendly business with circular solutions, and Tim Forslund, Circular Economy Specialist at Sitra, will present it to us at the meeting, as well as share with us Sitra's priorities for the coming months.
- Then we hear from one of Europe's leading circular experts, Elin Bergman, CiO at Cradlenet - Circular Economy Network in Sweden, and co-founder of the Nordic Circular Hotspot. Cradlenet is a powerful Swedish private sector organization in Sweden that works on the implementation of the circular economy. Elin is an international circular speaker and one of the 'Top Voices' on LinkedIN on the topic. She will review what is currently trending in the world of circularity and what big steps lie ahead.
- Anna de Matos, CEO and founder of Circular Library Networks, will also participate in discussions at the meeting and share what has been going on in the Icelandic circular library scene.
- Athugið viðburðurinn fer fram á ensku og er aðeins opinn aðildarfélögum Festu.
