The value chain is the process that connects us, both individuals and companies. Currently, most companies are taking both large and small steps in analyzing their value chains and the impacts that their operations have within the value chain. Scope 3 concerns emissions within the value chain of companies.
This is inherently a very extensive analysis and requires collaboration between different stakeholders. At the Crucible meeting, we will hear about interesting digital solutions that are leading us forward. We will also hear about the experiences of companies that have started with a scope 3 analysis.
At the meeting, several Festa member companies will share practical solutions for analyzing Scope 3 in operations and help us gather information related to the value chain and Scope 3.
Málfríður Guðný Kolbeinsdóttir, head of sustainability and working environment at Ölgerðinn, will be the moderator and will give a short presentation about Ölgerðinn's value chain.

Scope 3 is the emissions that occur at third parties as a result of our operations. Scope 3 is divided into so-called inputs and outputs. Inputs are the emissions that occur at third parties in order for us to be able to carry out our operations. This applies to the production of components that we need in our production, the production of products that we then sell on, the production of products that our employees need to do their jobs, such as computer equipment and stationery. In addition, there are emissions from services that we need, such as cleaning and cafeteria services, emissions from transport companies when bringing our products to us, from air carriers when bringing our employees abroad or from our employees when coming to work. Outputs are the emissions that occur at third parties after we have carried out our operations, for example when delivering our products to customers, emissions that occur at our customers when using and/or disposing of our products and at waste recipients when landfilling waste or composting organic waste from our operations.
