"Is it worth it?" – sustainability legislation – challenges and experiences

Stórar innleiðingar eru framundan hjá íslenskum fyrirtækjum þegar kemur að sjálfbærnireglugerðum. Þetta hefur verið mikið í deiglunni hjá Festu samfélaginu undanfarin misseri og veitir því ekki af því að kafa enn frekar ofan í þessi mál á rafrænum Deiglufundi 31. október sem faghópur um sjálfbæra þróun hjá Stjórnvísi og Festa halda saman.

With our support and trust, we have had several experienced players tell us about their experiences with the implementation and discuss the main challenges.

The regulations in question are:

  • Act 25/2023 on disclosure of sustainability information in the field of financial services and a classification system for sustainable investments. Entered into force on June 1

  • Regulation EU/2019/2088 SFDR (Sustainable Financial Disclosure Regulation) concerning financial market participants (applies to banks, mutual funds, pension funds and insurance companies)

  • Regulation EU/2020/852 EU Taxonomy - an EU classification system for sustainable investments that defines what constitutes environmentally sustainable business activities.

  • Act on Sustainability Reporting for Large and/or Listed Companies (CSRD).
  • See Festu's roadmap on sustainability principles

Elva Rakel Jónsdóttir, framkvæmdastjóri Festu verður fundarstjóri og mun Tómas N. Möller, stjórnarformaður Festu og yfirlögfræðingur Lífeyrissjóðs verzlunarmanna opna viðburðinn.

The key players in the implementation process will be Eiríkur Hjálmarsson, Sustainability Manager at OR, Agla Huld Þórarinsdóttir, Sustainability Specialist at Eimskip, and Kristrún Tinna Gunnarsdóttir, Sustainability Manager at Íslandsbanki.

This will be a practical meeting. We will review the situation, ask questions, and try to answer whether this is worth it.

We look forward to welcoming you to the screen!

The meeting is open to members of Stjórnvísi and Festa member associations and registration takes place on the Stjórnvísi page.
