Nine CEOs draft a powerful project
Today, Festa and Marel executives met with the CEOs of companies in Iceland that have committed to aligning their carbon footprint with the Paris Agreement by setting emission reduction targets according to the Science Based Targets initiative.
The aim of the meeting was to draft a dynamic project at Festa, in collaboration with Marel and the Icelandic government, aimed at the importance of leaders in this field, targeted education for Festa member companies and information provision regarding the success of the implementation of scientific goals and related actions. "The project has the potential to mark a turning point in influential actions in the field of climate issues in the Icelandic economy. The driving role of individual players is crucial, especially when they have a great influence in the business world and step forward with courage and power to drive the economy along with them. This is a unique group of experts and CEOs and I have high expectations for the project," said Hrund Gunnsteinsdóttir, CEO of Festa, following the meeting.
